Shiatsu (literally finger pressure in Japanese) is an energetic discipline that addresses the individual as a whole.

Its objective is to correct both the energy flow (the mind) and the body by applying pressure to the entire body, most often with the thumbs. It is aimed at everyone and at all ages. Shiatsu helps:

• Reduce stress and tension,

• Stimulate and strengthen the body's self-defense system

• Balancing the energy system as a whole (body-mind)

• Provide physical and mental relaxation

It is a discipline recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Health since 1955 as a manual medicine in its own right (state diploma). Its definition is as follows: “Shiatsu therapy is a form of manipulation administered by the thumbs, fingers and palms, without the aid of any mechanical or other instrument, which applies pressure to the skin, to correct bad internal functioning, promote and maintain health, and treat specific diseases."

In France, shiatsu is a profession recognized by the State with the title “Specialist in Shiatsu”, registered since July 2015 with the RNCP (JO of 07/25/2015).
